LDFK 6th Birthday Celebration
LDFK’s 6th Birthday Celebration: A Day to Remember On 15th September 2024, we celebrated a milestone in the journey of Long Drive from Kolkata (LDFK)—our 6th Birthday! The celebration took place at the serene Amrakunja, located at 57, Khan Road, Mankundu, near Mankundu Railway Station. Nestled amidst towering mango trees, the venue offered vast open spaces, perfect for our members’ cars to park and gather, creating a peaceful oasis for our joyous occasion. The day started early, with members arriving from 9:30 am to mark this special event. The weather played its part—an overcast Sunday, with sporadic showers and a cool breeze, providing the perfect setting for a leisurely drive. The road was not crowded, ensuring an enjoyable journey for everyone. The stage was set for LDFK’s 6th birthday celebration, and we couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere! As the day kicked off, we were treated to the new theme song of LDFK, performed by Hiya with music by Kalyanbrata Sarkar, filling the air with energy and excitement. The true highlight came next—our cake-cutting ceremony with a beautiful Sandesh Cake. The little ones eagerly gathered around to cut the cake, with all attendees joining in the celebration, creating an unforgettable moment. The festivities continued as we proudly displayed the 20 award-winning photographs from our members. The stunning images were showcased in the banquet hall, and those who had won awards were called up to receive their certificates and medals in recognition of their talent and creativity. It was heartwarming to see our members’ hard work and passion honored in such a meaningful way. Snacks, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, along with refreshing tea, coffee, and cold drinks, were served to keep everyone energized and satisfied throughout the event. The air-conditioned banquet hall was brimming with laughter, conversations, and the joy of being together. Our celebration wouldn’t have been complete without memorable performances by our incredibly talented members. From the sweet tunes of old melodies to the latest chart-toppers, everyone—from the youngest to the most senior members—contributed to the musical magic of the day. We also took a moment to express our solidarity with those fighting for justice for Abhaya, the recent RG Kar victim, reminding us of the power of community and support. At 2:00 pm, lunch was served, offering a delectable spread of Basanti Polao, chicken, Hilsa, chutney, papad, and the ever-popular Sandesh. The delicious food added to the warmth of the gathering, bringing everyone together for a shared meal of friendship and celebration. The program continued after lunch, with members enjoying more songs, dances, and performances that filled the room with an infectious spirit of togetherness. We celebrated not just the years gone by, but the friendships forged and the memories made. As the day drew to a close, members began their journey home, leaving with hearts full of joy and a treasure trove of beautiful memories from LDFK’s 6th Birthday celebration. It was truly a day to remember—a day of fun, camaraderie, and celebration of everything that makes our group so special. Here’s to many more years of unforgettable memories and long drives with the LDFK family! |
