LRFK Knakrajhore Ride 2024
Embark on a Journey to Kankrajhor: LRFK’s Jungle Ride Adventure
Welcome to Long Drive from Kolkata, a vibrant society of passionate self-driven car enthusiasts!
Our recent LRFK (LDFK’s two-wheeler trips) jungle ride to Jhargram was nothing short of extraordinary. This two-day adventure brought us closer as a group, united by shared experiences, laughter, and camaraderie. Traveling, eating, sleeping, and enjoying every moment together truly defined the essence of our community. Even in Jhargram, we unexpectedly met some members who were previously just names on Facebook, transforming virtual connections into real friendships.
Jhargram’s Kankrajhor was our ultimate destination, and the journey to get there was magical. As we navigated through the heart of the jungle, we were greeted by the pristine beauty of Dulung River, the historical allure of Chilki Garh Rajbari, and the mesmerizing charm of Ghagra Falls. Though Ghagra’s rocky terrain lay dry this season, its basalt stones told tales of ancient volcanic activity, adding a sense of mystery to the landscape.
Kankrajhor, derived from “Kankra” meaning stone and “Jhor” meaning forest, remains vibrant despite human development. The sal and teak forests, the rhythmic beats of dhamsa-madol, the intoxicating aroma of mahua, and the enchanting glow of fireflies made the place feel alive. It’s a sanctuary for flora, fauna, and the soul, offering a glimpse into an untouched world.
Our stay at Dhitang Homestay added to the magic. The evening was filled with tribal dances, the soulful beats of dhamsa-madol, and delicious local delicacies like shora chicken, complemented by the unique flavor of mahua. These moments created lasting memories and a deep appreciation for the local culture.
On our return journey, we explored the stunning Khadaranidam, surrounded by serene waters, and trekked to the 1,000-foot-high Garh Shini Hills. The breathtaking views and the peaceful ashram at its base were a perfect way to bid farewell to the wilderness. Breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the tranquility rejuvenated our spirits before returning to the hustle and bustle of daily life.
This trip reminded us of the joy of being carefree, of embracing the wild, and of cherishing the bonds that make our group special. As we return to our routines, we hold onto the hope of another adventure, another ride, and more stories to create and share together.
